LIVE: Mord Fustang – 9999 In 1 Release Party

Hard Electro House producer/DJ, Mord Fustang, brought a true Massive style vibe to Hollywood this past Tuesday night in celebration of his new album, 9999 In 1.  Hollywood has become a haven for mainstream entertainment over the past couple of years so it was fitting that a return to the real would happen in The Lash Pop Up at the former location of LAX, the club famous for DJ AM and Steve Aoki’s Banana Split Sundays.  Rave kids hit the floor with enthusiasm to shuffle as guest DJ’s, including Le Castle Vania, dropped heavy fest worthy Electro all night.  Guests including Alvin Risk stopped by simply to support Mord on the eve of releasing the debut LP.
The album itself is a diverse collection of glitchy styles showing a range some might not expect.  “Drivel” and “1984” are light and funky Electro House songs reminiscent of artists like Digitalism and Shinichi Osawa back when the genre exploded in 2008.  “Pop” featuring LIINKS is the type of Electro-Pop that also makes you go back almost a decade to Yele and early Calvin Harris.  “Milky Way (Pt.2)” brings some aggression to the album by way of some Dubstep while “Elite Beat Agent” is a heavy dance floor mover in the tradition of Madeon and Zedd’s funkier tracks.  Even with the diaspora offered by the 10 songs, 9999 In 1 still holds as a cohesive album worthy of a listen.

9999 to 1 is available now on iTunes
