Feel the Magic, Hear the Bass Roar --Thundercat was loose at The Anthem in Washington DC
You know, the two great things about a Thundercat show --besides the music, is the fans and his merch! From the Thundercat cardigan, the I Have Given Up Sweatsuit and of course the Dragonball Durag (which sold out in mere minutes). Okay, okay, let me focus.
Most of the fans thought that the new album would be out by time the tour hit, but that's been put on hold--for now. But it's great that he didn't cancel the tour. He has released a couple of new singles --"Children of the Baked Potato", featuring Remi Wolf and "I Wish I Didn't Waste Your Time". Thundercat's entrance music was "Really Love", by the late, great D'Angelo. Whom he would pay homage to later in the show. He performed a few new songs and a plethora of fan faves, like "Tron Song", "Dragonball Durag" and "No More Lies", his collaboration with Tame Impala. Ohhh, yeah he also broke out the Neon Genesis Evangelion bass!!!
The show was 2 hours of great music, quirky, nerdy fun. Thundercat has a few shows remaining stateside, then he heads over to Europe. Check the tour dates to see if he's coming to your city.
