LIVE: Keith Sweat at The Howard Theatre, DC

Anyone who knows me knows that New Jack Swing is my favorite music genre of all time—yeah, I probably just dated myself with that one.  So, when I heard that Keith Sweat was coming to DC, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to attend this show.  After damned near being tackled by sequin clad women to get to the front of the stage, I was able to get my balance back and enjoy the show. Sweat, who had at least three outfit changes during the show, had the audience on their feet, with hits such as “I Want Her”, “Twisted” and the title track from his 1987 debut, Make it Last Forever .  The one thing I felt that Sweat didn’t necessarily need was a hype man. Other than that little faux pas, Keith still has that something...Yep, Yep (c) Teddy Riley
