Video: Fatima feat Funkineven- Soul Glo

I know this is steering away from my predominantly NZ focus but seeing as this is easily one of my top 3 tunes of the year and has pretty much slipped under the blogosphere's radar, I feel it's definitely worthy of a mention.

If you're wondering if the name Fatima sounds familiar, you're probably thinking of her feature on Shafiq Husayn's "Lil Girl track", however Fatima has been around for a lot longer. I came across her Myspace page about three years ago and instantly became a huge fan. She then started appearing on various tracks I would come across, and if you're a fan of BBC 1xtra radio shows from Benji B and Mary Anne Hobbs like myself, then you will be more than familiar with her recent work.

The Stockholm native is part of Eglo Records which also is residence to the up and coming (and SERIOUSLY dope) Funkineven and the incredible Floating Points, of which have both received major props from Benji B and Gilles Peterson in the last 12 months. Fatima's first solo release the Mind Travellin' EP, which was released late last month, features this super smooth track "Soul Glo" produced by Funkineven. Also check for the incredibly dope track "Warm Eyes" with production from man of the moment, Dam- Funk. Get familiar.
