EVENT PREVIEW: Welcome to Broccoli City Fest 2016
Its that time of year when music fans start preparing for the festival run. The first up, Broccoli City Fest 2016, which takes place on April 30th, has a major focus on Go Green Living while showcasing both major and local artists. This year's headliners are Future, Jhene Aiko, the Internet, Anderson Paak and BJ the Chicago Kid. With this diverse of a line-up of course it would sell out--there are literally no tickets available to purchase, however you can grab a group of friends and register to volunteer for BC Fest (very neat and creative idea). BC Fest launched four years ago on Earth Day with the premise that music would bring a large mass of people together to celebrate and promote living a Green Lifestyle. One of if not the most popular vendor were the bikes that provide power to your cell phone. This vendor is almost necessary at any large concert because who has time to run back to the car to charge. Grab a friend and hit the bikes to charge your phones while protecting Mother Earth and get a quick workout in.
Held on the grounds of Gateway DC , in what used to be one of the roughest neighborhoods in DC, Greater Southeast, Broccoli City Revelers and Attendees will be able to enjoy the renovated space and there is plenty of space to spread out, lay out picnic blankets, partake of healthy food vending options and who knows what other great surprises the Broccoli Fest team has this year. One Love Massive is holding down the Indie Stage at BC Fest again this year with local favorites such as; Rare Essence, Ace Cosgrove, Pinky Killacorn, Reesa Renee, DJ Jahsonic and more.
