Holy Ghost! - Do It Again
Lately I've been seriously into 80's/new wave music. The sexiness of that synthesizer and bass combo has me addicted to bands like Berlin, Dead or Alive, Laid Back and New Order (to name a few). It's no big secret that a lot of today's electro-pop artists are heavily influenced by these sounds so naturally I am drawn to those who boldly (and properly) embrace it.
I've just caught on to NYC's Holy Ghost! and their newest single "Do It Again". The duo that is Nick Milhiser and vocalist Alex Frankel have been buzzin' since 07 and have become quite known on the electro underground as dope 'remixers' - lacing tracks like Mark Ronson's "Somebody To Love Me" , Cut Copy's "Hearts on Fire" and MGMT's "Of Moons Birds and Monsters".
"Do It Again" is everything 80's; Alex Frankel’s is obviously influenced by Depeche Mode, there are light hints of an 808 and the track noticeably favors the song "Rise" originally performed by Herb Alpert made recognizable through Biggie's "Hypnotize". The result is one hell-of-an iPod slapper.
Their self titled album is due out April 5 and you can download "Do It Again" here for free.
