As my homie Tarik from Radio Milwaukee puts it, Atlanta's Adult Swim network is "probably the best label that is not a label." Very true. It's partnered with Stones Throw and Def Jux to create ridiculously great collaborations (check Chrome Children) and got a then relatively unknown Danger Mouse paired up with MF Doom for the amazing Dangerdoom alubum. Recently it crashed Southern hip-hop into electro and dubstep for ATL RMX, and let's not forget their groundbreaking African music mixtape.

So yeah, nothing about Adult Swim surprises me anymore. They're great at what they do and their latest collaboration with Kia is no exception. 8 Singles 8 Weeks throws everybody from Madvillian to LCD Soundsystem together for yet another ineteresting project.

With sounds that range from country to hip-hop, 8 Singles 8 Weeks shows that creativity still exists in music. With album sales at an all time low maybe TV networks will become the next major label?
