MUSIC: 'The House that Chicago Built' film teaser
Only a few days before the untimely passing of Frankie Knuckles, ‘Godfather of House music’, another House music figurehead and fellow Chicagoan DJ and producer, Lil Louis, released the first video teaser of his forthcoming film ‘The House that Chicago Built’, which claims to be the ‘true story of the history of House music’.
Due to come out later this year, ‘The House that Chicago Built, directed by Lil Louis, features interviews from over 100 DJs around the globe, including Frankie Knuckles, Larry Heard, Derrick May, Pete Tong, David Guetta, Louie Vega and Armin van Buuren.
Probably best known for dancefloor hit ‘French Kiss’, Lil Louis has warned that the film will be controversial, going against conventional wisdom in House music history. He’s asserted that he’s setting the record straight and ‘staking his rightful claim’.
The film soundtrack will include tracks from Lil Louis’ new forthcoming album - his first new full album release in six years.
