MUSIC: DJ Enferno - Higher (Remix)

Ten years ago the world of disc jockeying was still in the stone age. DJ’s were carrying 50 pounds of records to gigs dealing with equipment that were as old as their parents. The MP3 revolution changed the way we consumed music and also changed the way music was DJ'ed. Nowadays all you need is a laptop, maybe some small portable controllers and BAM, you’re ready to go. Technology has gotten to the point where you don’t even technically need to DJ as EDM DJ Deadmaus famously spilled the tea on a few years ago.
While we are usually too drunk to notice this change in technology has lead to some really shitty DJ sets. It’s odd that the soundtrack to a random night out is a cynical computer edited playlist.
Washington DC based DJ ENFERNO created the Live Remix series in 2006 which showcases professional turntablism and beat creation in real time. In this installment he balanced turntablism, mpc drumming, and triggers to totally re-imagine and remix "Higher" by Just Blaze and Baauer. Watch the video above and only support DJ's that actually DJ.
