MUSIC: Bilal - Satellites

While Bilal burst through the mainstream with his credits all over Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly anyone who'd been paying attention to soul music knows he's been doing his thing for over a decade. From his notoriously intense live shows (Ive personally witnessed him crawl drunk on the floor for ten minutes during a jam session, not missing a note), to good to great albums, he's built up a solid career of being one of the best soul men in the business. So hopefully his upcoming album, In Another Life, will bring him more of the mainstream recognition he deserves. NPR wrote up the first single, Satellites, and it's as good as everything else he's done. Listen below.
