Dr. Martens Featuring: The Noisettes, DâM-FunK & The Duke Spirit

As a lot of you may know, earlier this month Dr. Martens (aka Doc Martens) officially turned 50 years old and to commemorate this historic milestone, the legendary boot brand asked 10 music artists to record their version of cult classic songs that represent the spirit of DM's over the years. And what could have possibly been a confusing mess actually turned into something quite dope and worth checking out.

The Noisettes, DâM-FunK and The Duke Spirit are the first three out of the ten to actually release videos for their remakes with the remaining seven to come out periodically throughout the year. The Noisettes did an excellent job at remaking "Ever Fallen in Love? (With Someone You Shouldn't've)" by the Buzzcocks; DâM-FunK (whose video hit the blogs a couple of weeks ago) did "Things That Dreams Are Made Of" from The Human League and The Duke Spirit (a popular rock band out of London) remade "If The Kids Are United" by Sham 69.

To add to the dopeness of the videos each one was directed by a different director and each video contains the artists rocking some of the hottest pairs of Dr. Martens currently out (ladies check out the pair of bangin' black patent leather 'Darcie's' worn by Shingai Shoniwa of the Noisettes below- I sooo want these!)

Doc Martens have been a shoe staple for musicians of all genres throughout its 50 years of existence - which has perhaps played a key part in their overall success. And for the brand to recognize and celebrate this fact shows true respect and I anticipate that these boots will be around for years and years to come.
