AUDIO x VIDEO: Questlove's Bonnaroo Superjam feat. D'Angelo & The Soulquarians

For us unlucky souls who missed ?uestlove’s Superjam at Bonnaroo ( I knew there was going to be some magic) but I didn’t expect him to utter this:

“I’ve been waiting 12 years to say this – ladies and gentlemen, D’Angelo!

Say word! We all know that D had been doing a gang of overseas dates but wasn’t anticipating him to perform stateside for at least another month—he’s performing at the Essence Festival in New Orleans and later this year at Jay-Z’s Made in America festival in Philadelphia.  Now, that I told you that bit of info let’s get back into what went down in Tennessee.

The Superjam’s  line up consisted of members of the Time, Parliament as well as The Roots. The 90-minute set consisted of rock classics by Sly Stone, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and others.  Sounds like something you might want to listen to? This is a great take on the phrase, “Lets get the band back together”.
