FOOD: Tiny's and the Bar Upstairs [NYC]

slider-2
Tiny's and the Bar Upstairs is one of those awesome New York City spots.  By this, I mean that Tiny's is super old and full of history.  The building is not only pink, but from 1810!  Who wouldn't want to eat in a three-story town house that old?
The vibe of Tiny's is very cool as well.  Everything looks super old and a little run down but I absolutely loved it.  Even if the food was mediocre I would probably still want to come back.  But lucky for me, the food was pretty damn good.
My two favorite appetizers that we ordered were the meatballs and of course, the burrata.  Burrata is one of my all time favorite appetizers and Tiny's version did not disappoint.  The meatballs surprised me.  I wasn't expecting them to be as good as they were and I can't really say why.  Maybe because it didn't strike me as an Italian restaurant.  But they were incredible.  I would go back just to have drinks and these two apps.
Which brings me to the entrees.  I went for lunch and had the risotto, which I actually would not order again.  The portion was not all that impressive and it just overall didn't do anything for me.  The flavors were bland and it wasn't nearly hot enough.  The burger, on the other hand, looked pretty awesome so I would definitely give that a try.
I wasn't able to have a cocktail because I was here for a work lunch, but I do know that they do happy hour and am dying to go back very soon for a cocktail and more of that burrata!
