FOOD: Sunday Dim Sum -- Myers + Chang [Boston]

IMG_4121

Sick of your usual weekend waffles? Saturdays and Sundays, Myers + Chang in the South End serves up an Asian fusion dim sum to shake up your brunch game. The menu ranges from hot to hotterest, Taiwanese to Chinese, and everything in between.

One can't go wrong with the famed dumplings and the Mama Chang's Pork + Chive ones came out perfectly crisped on one side and succulent in the middle. The Nirvana Chicken Bao is big enough to split, but you'll want the savory chicken and--most importantly-- the soft-as-a-cloud bread all for yourself. It will disappear before you've realized. For the vegetarians, the Sweet + Sour Brussels Sprouts had a great smokiness from their time in the pan balanced against the sprouts' natural sweetness and the tangy sauce.

With paper lanterns and painted mirrors, the space is intimate and warm, thanks also to the many flaming woks behind the bar. The sound of sizzling veggies as the chefs toss pans and plate dishes makes Myers + Chang a cozy option for your weekend umami fill. Of course, brunch comes with a cocktail list and the staff knows their stuff when it comes to drinking with your dim sum, so bottoms (and chopsticks) up!
