FOOD: Spaghetti Incident [NYC]
I'm admittedly not a huge fan of pasta. But the second I saw these spaghetti cones all over Instagram, I knew that not only would I love it, but I just had to try it.
While eating messy spaghetti on the go isn't as glamorous as it may appear on social media, these cones are absolutely worth it. I went with the Bucatini Trevigiana which has pancetta, pine nuts and radicchio in a light cream sauce. My boyfriend went with the Chitarra which was fresh, homemade mozzarella in a chopped tomato sauce which was also out of this world. There is nothing better than fresh mozzarella and the tomatoes in that one were beyond good.
Spaghetti Incident is a small restaurant that you could easily walk right past over on Eldridge, which is a street I don't frequent that much but definitely should. The area is quiet and because we wanted the cones to go, we actually ate in the beach like chairs outside, which made it really fun and different.
The spaghetti cone is definitely one food trend type dish that's absolutely worth the hype. The pasta is so good that even if it wasn't in the cone, it would certainly be worth eating. And for a date night, it's definitely a cheap date. We had the two spaghetti cones ($27) followed by ice cream at my beloved Davey's Ice Cream ($9 for two cones) and called it a night.
