While trying to enjoy one of the remaining outdoor meals of the season, and celebrating a birthday, I found myself at Lasagna Ristorante last night on 50th and 2nd.
Pretty much everything about this dinner was spot on from the carafe of wine we ordered (a steal at $29!) to the garlic bread we shared before our entrees. I'm admittedly not a huge fan of lasagna, not that I dislike it, but just never really seem to order it. But with the endless lasagna options, you know one of us had to order it. So the veal lasagna was ordered and it was the perfectly cheesy dish I imagined it would be. I opted for the linguine with shrimp and scallops in a pink sauce, which was also perfectly satisfying and our table rounded out with chicken parm and chicken marsala.
Dessert is rarely my favorite part of any meal, but we all shared the tiramisu and it was quite possibly the best I've had. It was light and delicious and I could have eaten the whole thing myself.
Lasagna isn't the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to, but it was perfect for what it was. Great wine, excellent food and a nice atmosphere. What more could you ask for?
