FOOD: Hudson Common [NYC]

Planning a birthday or group event in the city can be tricky.  While there are so many places to choose from there are certain things that are required for everyone to have a good time.  And this past weekend I may have discovered a great option: Hudson Common.
Located in the Hudson Hotel in Columbus Circle, Hudson Common is a casual beer hall style bar.  You can call ahead and reserve space which is always great for hosting a party and the vibe of the place is really cool.  The crowd was decent enough and as you would expect, there was a great beer selection--although I would have appreciated more cider options.
There was a dj playing mostly top 40 and some throwbacks but it actually became pretty fun as the night went on.  There was dancing when you wanted it, and space to hang out and sit on a couch when you didn't.  While I didn't have the food, there was a snack bar style window at the back of the bar that looked pretty awesome.  And maybe the best part--free coat check!
