The Couch Sessions

This Tuesday was the first food tasting event hosted by LocalBozo, where a couple hundred people came together at Santos Party House to sample delicious recipes from their favorite newer restaurants. In addition to the the food, there were beers from Bronx Brewery, Blue Point Brewing Company, Lagunitas Brewing Company, and the Finger Lakes Wine Alliance.

Of the eight restaurants, some of my favorites were the Rigatoni Veal Ragu from Sotto 13, Swine's Housemade Ricotta, Strawberry Balsamic Jam and Duck Proscuitto Crostini, and Boulton & Watt's pickles--the beets were awesome! And of course, the Mini Liege Wafels with Belgian Gingerbread Cookie Spread were unreal. But here's the full rundown of what was featured!

Alison Eighteen - Deconstructed Choucroute

Boulton and Watt - Pickle Board: Beets, Cucumber, Brussels Sprouts, Pineapple

Rogue and Canon - Lamb Sloppy Joe Sliders with Curry Yogurt Cucumber Relish

It was great to walk around and sample what each restaurant had to offer and discover new places to eat. Of the eight restaurants that were there, I have been to Boulton & Watt before--and it's become one of my favorite spots. The cocktails are unique, the food is awesome comfort food with a twist, and the pickles are of course, not to be missed. Located on the corner of 1st and A, Boulton & Watt has a great ambiance and I always have a good time there! I was very happy to see them at Local Eats.
