DRINK: Roxy Hotel [NYC]
Hotel bars can be really hit or miss. Usually they are not my scene at all--they tend to be expensive and stuffy. But exploring around Tribeca, a neighborhood that I'm beginning to discover more and more, I came to the Roxy Hotel and knew this wasn't just any overpriced hotel bar.
The vibe isn't straight up hotel--it seems more like a bar than a hotel actually but what really blew me away was the hotel itself. The architecture is amazing--the way you can see the hallways if you look to the ceiling. It is a beautiful place to have a drink and I'm so curious as to what the rooms look like.
Price wise it was pretty much what you would expect--a little expensive but nothing incredibly outrageous. This would be a great place if you're having dinner in the area and want to get a drink beforehand or if you have friends from out of town who appreciate unique buildings. I would absolutely come back to this spot--I almost forgot that I was in a hotel. And that's how I prefer hotel bars.
