DRINK RECIPE: Apple-Whiskey Sangria
Since the holiday season is fast approaching, we've got a couple wine cocktail recipes for you to use when you're entertaining. First up: Apple-Whiskey Sangria! Sangria is probably one of the easiest drinks to make for a crowd – just toss in all the ingredients, let sit for a little while, serve, and you’re good to go. Admittedly, it’s one of those drinks you normally see in the summer, but why not keep things going into the colder months and switch it up with some seasonally appropriate fruit? This is one of those recipes that can be easily adjusted to your taste – if you like more booze, more fruit, more cider, add or decrease as you please.
Apple-Whiskey Sangria
serves about 6
1 bottle of Chardonnay
4 cups apple cider
1 16oz bottle ginger beer
2 shots whiskey
4-5 medium apples sliced (or diced - we used a mix of Honeycrisp and Rome)
2 cinnamon sticks
Ice
In a large pitcher or punch bowl, add fruit and ice, then the rest of the ingredients.
Let sit for at least 15 minutes in order for the flavors to meld, then serve.
