New York is full of cozy date spots or places to kick back with a bottle of wine.  But sometimes there can be almost too many and it might feel overwhelming.  So let me recommend one place I really enjoyed: 8th Street Wine Cellar.  Located on, well, 8th Street, this quiet wine spot is perfect for happy hour with a few friends or a date.  Happy Hour is from 5-7 and the bottles are only $20!  Not only are the bottles $20, but there is a decent selection and I was really impressed with the wine overall.  The Malbec was surprisingly good.

I went with a friend and ended up sharing the mushroom and goat cheese quesadilla, which was pretty small, but if you ordered a few different plates to share it would make for the perfect pre-dinner snack.

Needless to say, I can see myself coming here quite a bit this winter.  I wouldn't even be past holing up at the bar with my own bottle and a good book.
