LIVE: The Do Over Miami, Red Bull Guest House, WMC 2013
It’s the last Sunday of Winter Music Conference in South Beach, and the streets are packed with music enthusiasts and luxury cars. With Red Bull branding everywhere imaginable, including the bright orange to pink fade around the door openings of the all white everything Dream Hotel, the Do Over was the place to be Sunday March 23rd. The Do Over also happens to be a Couch Sessions favorite in Brooklyn so we needed to find out what they were bringing to Magic City. When we got there, we were served an assortment of Red Bull drinks mixed with vodka while waiting to head up the elevator. A perfect way to start a party.
On the roof top I was greeted by another amazing day in South Beach, and a couple of girls twerking on a floating raft. All around stood small coolers stocked with every flavor of Red Bull for anyone needing a boost. They also had a complementary ice cream service, accompanied by two costumed ice cream servers who periodically made their rounds around the pool capturing attention. The sexy ice cream girl would start dancing on top of the ice cream cooler, and her hilariously dressed partner wearing red overalls and green curlers in his hair would break it down beneath her. The best part for me was the food - $3 Hamburgers and hot dogs at Dream?! Delicious and always a must when you’re at a pool party.

By 3 o’clock the pool deck was packed. DJ J.Rocc was spinning his amped-up remixes of 1970s funky beats, while mixing in slow-building hypnotic tracks, feeding off the crowd’s energy. The crowd gathered in front of the DJ booth dancing and jamming out, while others lay around.
Salva jumped on the tables next playing a variety of hip-hop and trap style mixes. As the day progressed the energy never dropped. From the beginning of his set he kept the crowd pumped with heavy bass, keeping the energy high with every beat.
Towards the end of Salva’s set special guest Pusha T jumped on the mic and gave a personal performance, to a crowd of about 200 people. The crowd gravitating towards Pusha, rapped along with the G.O.O.D. Music artist and his performance had the whole party bouncing and throwing their hands in the air. He finished off his performance with one of his original hit records “Grindin”, leaving the crowd wanting more. As he exited the DJ booth, he walked through the party. Shout out to Pusha for taking time to take photos with everyone.

And no description needed... but, Pete Rock!!! Also DJing: Haycock, Strong and Blacc. With great drinks and music, surrounded by beautiful eccentric people, I was left looking forward to their next event. Miami and the Do Over are definitely a G.O.O.D. mix.
