Last Thursday, Vitamin Water and BYT kicked off it’s impressive 30 days pop up space in the U Street area with a concert by local acts done good. The Wale-headlined event also featured rising B-More artists Rye Rye, Fat Trel, XO, and an surprise appearance by Tabi Bonney. Check it.

WHO: New York’s Giant Step returns to Miami to ring in the New Year at Delano. Grammy award-winner Common will be joined by his live band for an exclusive performance in The Florida Room with additional music by DJ Tommy Ryk. Up-and-coming hip-hop star and M.I.A. protégé Rye Rye takes over the Poolside for a free show with DJ Mateo DiFontaine.

We’ve been following Baltimore artist Rye Rye for a hot minute now and I’m glad to hear that she’s FINALLY put out a video for her track “Bang,” which has been making waves on the club circuit. The vid, directed by Mrs. Maya herself, has that grainy, gritty B-More quality we come to expect from the Charm City. Will this track make waves in the mainstream? I hope so.

Rye Rye – Bang (Nacey Remix)

Most of y’all know that I’ve gotten back into dance music hard core, and the dude’s from DC’s Nouveau Riche party are some of the top dance/electronic cats I’ve heard in a while. The night combines hip-hop, electro, bass, dubstep, and whatever else they want to throw into the mix. 

if you don’t now, Rye Rye is an 18 year old Baltimore MC and the first signee to M.I.A.’s N.E.E.T. label. You might remember her from those tracks “Wassup Wassup” and “Shake it to the Ground,” which were hot last year. Her newest entry into the scene is the Switch-produced “Bang,” which is a certified club banger in B-More right now.

Nacey reworks this track beautify, flipping the drums and adding that jungle frog sound that keeps creeping up lately, and making a perfect compliment to the original source material. These dudes have more remixes up their sleeves, so I’m wondering what this production crew is up to next. Check Nacey’s other remixes of AC Slater and AA247.
