Hennessy V.S Blending of Art celebrates the two as one, in a collaborative project that aligns the visually arresting with the sonically bold; the musically adventurous with the artistically free. An exclusive series of future thinking artworks that connect some of music’s most vibrant revolutionaries with visual artists and graphic designers that dance to the same beat.

Inspired by the Hennessy Artistry curation process, Hennessy has invited a posse of artists to express themselves around the iconic Hennessy V.S bottle with true creative freedom creating five new iconic bottle designs.

Hennessy Artistry’s Questlove and Q-Tip, alongside the musical talents of A-Trak, Kid Sister and Steve Aoki and stunning visual artists Dust La Rock, Spaceknuckle, Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic, Fafi and Laundry are all part of this collaboration process.

I haven’t checked for Paul Wall in a mega minute but as soon as I saw the words ‘Feat. Bun B and Kid Sister’ I had to peep this joint immediately. And to my surprise it’s got some serious fire potential. “Imma Get It” is off Paul Wall’s upcoming new album Heart of a Champion and the most bugged out part is that it’s produced by Travis Barker who is also Paul’s band mate in their group Expensive Taste. Travis in fact produced most of Paul’s new album which will drop this Tuesday July 13 and besides from “Imma Get It” it also features another banger with Raekwon, Yelawolf and Jay Electronica called “Live It”. Interesting collabo’s being put together and I’m digging them. Peep below.

Kid Sisters album, UltraViolet is dropping soon and the first single, Right Hand Hi is here for your listening pleasure. Right Hand Hi is produced by Sebastian Ingrosso & Steve Angello of the Swedish House Mafia and you can just see/hear a random European Music Festival just screaming out of this song. For most people who follow the next generation of hip-hop, the artists and songs featured in this mixtape are already household names. To be quite honest, I was wasn’t event going to download this at all because I figured I heard it all before. However, the first track with Brother Ali and Wale destroyed that notion entirely. Fire. The rest of the tracks are quality as well, and there are more than a few songs that I don’t yet have in collection. The lineup for the annual Rock The Bells tour was announce this week, and this year, like last year, its already generating controversy. Last year, it was the inclusion of Rage Against The Machine as a headliner (cause they ain’t hip-hop?), and now this year, it’s the inclusion of hipster-hop acts like The Cool Kids, Spank Rock, Kid Sister, Santogold and the like.

But forget the controversy….A TRIBE CALLED QUEST IS REUNITING!! Also, what’s this? The Pharcyde (who I guess have reunited, but have played some West Coast gigs last year) are also on the bill as well as Nas, Most Def and others.

And honestly, I was going to save this for another post, but what the hell is wrong with hipster-hop?? Seriously, there are people who think that The Cool Kids are the second coming of the apocalypse? Why? Cause they’re “soft?” Last time I checked, Hip-Hop had The Fat Boys, Kid N’ Play, and Arrested Development…..and somehow it survived.

Kid Sister – Let Me Bang

I might need a late pass on Kid Sister. Ive heard the name float around the internets, but I’m so swamped with other people’s music that I haven’t gotten around to listening to her ish.

Supposedly she’s one of the next MC’s outta Chicago. There’s a heavy influence of Twista in her flow. I don’t know if that’s just how Chicago MC’s sound, or if an intentional marketing gimmick. She’s also got some UK influence to her too. Could she be America’s response to MIA and Lady Sov?
