Download to donate is billed as compilation of unreleased music from such artists as Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Alanis Morissette, Slash,The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, Kenna, Enrique Iglesias and Lupe Fiasco, all in the name to help earthquake victims in Haiti.

The album is free and you are encouraged to donate. I think the system would work better if you had to make a donation before you could get the album but as long as people are aware of the need for donations I’m down for it.

Kenna Climbs a Mountain, Drops New Track, Turn

Kenna – Turn

For the past few weeks, Kenna, Santigold, and Lupe Fiasco have been climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa to raise awareness for the global water crisis in the Summit on The Summit initiative.

After dropping the Neptunes produced Make Sure They See My Face in 2007, Kenna has been out of the limelight, most notably working behind the scenes with pop stars Ashlee Simpson and JoJo as well as the guest on RJD2′s latest album, Colossus. However, in 2010 he is the face of HP’s new ad campaign as well as climbing a mountain.

Last week Kenna dropped a new track called Turn via his Twitter. Does this signal a new album in the works? We can only hope so.

I’m a huge fan of RJD2, and I’m glad to see that he’s dropping a new single, “Games You Can Win” off of his new album The Colossus, which drops sometime next year. He also recruits Couch Sessions fave Kenna along for the ride. Also, RJD2 will be on tour, hitting DC’s 9:30 Club on January 9th.

First off, congratulations to my boy Kenna for being nominated for a Grammy last week for best Urban/Alternative performance (aka the only Grammy category I really care about). If they had a category for most under appreciated artist he would get a lifetime achievement award.

But as I always say, it is what it is. Anyway, y’all know I’ve been a fan of Trackademics for a long time now, so I’m always excited to hear new remixes. To be quite honest, I haven’t been following him since he dropped the …., but I’m glad to know that they are pumping out new ish continuously.
