We were down with J*Davey waaay before being down with J*Davey was cool. So I’m glad to see that the duo of Brook and Jack Davey are still in effect. Their video for my favorite track off of their Boudoir Synema: The Great Mistapes EP takes them to a “desert wasteland” to “summon the psychedelic Indian on a quest for self-discovery.” Good look guys.

Most of y’all know that we loves us some J*Davey, and we’re glad to see that the duo is still together making music. I’m still mad that their major label release hasn’t seen the light of day, but now that such artists as Janelle Monae are getting some shine, hopefully Warner Music will dust it off the shelf. Until then, check out their video for “Get Together,” from their fabulous Boudir Synema EP that dropped last year. Check it.

Since this website’s beginning the first artist that most readers mention is J*Davey. It seems like the history and mission of this site has been intertwined with the LA duo since it’s beginning. And even though JD has not yet released their major label debut (boo.), they have blessed us this Holiday Season with Boudoir Synema – The Great Mistapes, the first part of three in a series. All I gotta say is…enjoy. It’s good to have new J*Davey in the world and the promise of even more is getting me excited.

J*Davey – Outta The Window

As someone who has been stanning for J*Davey on this site before many of y’all knew was a blog was, I’m proud to say that they are releasing new music and their shelved album will finally (hopefully) see the light of day in 2010.

Outta The Window is a high-tempo jam that will appear on a new J*Davey mixtape, Boudoir Synema: The Great Mistape,  that will hopefully be dropping around Christmas. I know that J*Davey’s fanbase runs deep (I get hit up about their status at least once a week), so I know we are all glad to see them back on the scene.

GASP! New J*Davey?

Just when I was about to write off the LA Duo they come back with a new video for their track End of the World. Even though their record deal is still in limbo, this new video is made especially to highlight their quest to win the “I Want My Music on MTV” contest, which would feature the winning act on the channel.

Even though the whole situation from Warner is up in the air (2009?), J*Davey is still getting music to the hands of the people. Their double CD dropped in July and can be found at a Best Buy near you. I know a few people are salty that their release contains material that has been floating around the Internets for years, but I for one, am glad that they are getting something in the hands of the people while Warner drags their feet.

And now they are dropping new videos for the project. However, this video for the Future Screw Remix of Mister Mister still can’t compare to the original (for obvious reasons).

I don’t know when this show ared (seriously, could you see me watching Ellen??) but I think this might be J*Davey’s first national television performance. The track, “Dollar Or More,” is one that we previewed back in May and, for all intents and purposes on the upcoming “Warner Brothers” release due in 2009. Yes, “Warner Brothers” is in quotes for a reason.

Jack Davey used to work at the Ellen show for 2 years, so I think this is more as Ellen’s favor to Jack than an actual hint that their damn album will come out. But I’m still hoping…

Kardinal Offishall feat. J*Davey – Digital Motown

I can confirm that this track is off of Kardi’s upcoming album Not 4 Sale which drops next week. I’m loving this track, and even though my homegirl Jack Davey only sings the hook, she definately holds her own.

I won’t be in attendance thanks to my damn job, but I’m sure its gonna be a hot show nonetheless.
