So yeah, I was ready for the Kanye/Badu/Common lovefest at the Red Bull Moon Tower to begin. I had prime real estate AND my SLR. It was about to go down. Then Red Bull got shut down by the cops. 

No worries. Me and Marcus were kidnapped by a girl from the “Austin hood” who goes by redyellow and transported to what they were calling the Texas Niteclub, an abandoned Salvaiton Army in a nondescrept shopping center somewhere in Austin, for the IHeartComix/Mad Decent Party, with Diplo, Kid Cudi, Farnsworth Bentley and a host of others on stage.

The ish was crazy. Cudi was so damn hype. I went to give a dude some dap and he was so excited he almost pulled me across the stage and embraced me as a brother. Granted, he could’ve been hype off that duet with Little Boots 3 hours earlier but I think having Diplo behind you and hundreds of screaming hipsters had something to do with it. The pictures only convey 1/4th of the crazyness of this night.

Yesterday I was noticing a lot of search engine traffic was coming to this site from looking for Fonzworth Bentley. I was scratching my head…Fonzworth? That’s a blast from the past!

“Everybody” was a song that we posted about in 2006 and two years later they finally drop a video for this track. It’s all good though, because the Cool Outrageous Lovers of Uniquely Raw Style (yeah really) bring it. The track itself might rank as my favorite of the year, and again, Andre 3000 kills it. The straight goofiness of the video is refreshing–I thought I would never see Kanye get relegated to the position of backup dancer. Sa-Ra, who produced the track, are in the background and don’t get top billing. Sad.

I was initially blah about Fonzworth and his music career, but I’m the dude won me over after I listened to Kreg and Dez’s interview with him a few years ago where he proved that he’s more than a character. C.O.L.O.U.R.S. is still listed as having no release date, but now that the video has dropped, it should see the light of day
