Cody ChestnuTT first emerged on the music scene with his album, The Headphone Masterpiece, which he recorded on a cassette recorder out of his Los Angeles bedroom in 2002. Despite its low-tech setup, the record showcased his neo-soul style and socially conscious lyrics, gaining the attention of music heavyweights like The Roots, who sampled him for their enormous hit, “The Seed 2.0.” After a long hiatus from the spotlight, ChestnuTT returned to his Southern past to record 2012’s Landing on a Hundred, which is buzzing with critical acclaim. The album was recorded at Memphis’s Royal Studios, where ChestnuTT worked off the lingering energy of music legends like Al Green and Ike and Tina Turner. While maintaining his classic soul style, Landing on a Hundred also showcases ChestnuTT’s Georgia-grown roots, delivering songs Southern soul fans will truly sink into.

An Oakland-grown singer/ songwriter whose ravenous musical curiosities inspired her own creative wonderland, Jennah Bell belts out quirky songwriting and forges an undefinable genre that is a direct product of her proud Bay Area roots. As the architect of all aspects of her musical endeavors, Jennah pulls from a colorful palette of Folk, Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Bluegrass. Haunting as the blues, gritty as rap verse, and enchanting as only folk can be, Jennah Bell is the sum of music’s best parts.

In 2011, Jennah released her first self- produced EP, the experimental “Early Bird,” and left Boston for New York City, where she’s been warmly welcomed into NYC’s renowned music scene. Most recently, Jennah performed at The 2012 BET Awards as a independent artist. Jennah also performed at the CMJ’s Music Marathon and several stages at the prestigious SXSW Music Festival. Bell is currently working on her debut album, with contributions from Grammy-winning producer and engineer mixer, Gordon Williams; and multi-Grammy winning songwriter, musician and multi-platinum producer James Poyser. She has released a 3-piece acoustic set “Live at Mother,” EP this past December which is profiled on Okayplayer.com.
