SOBs welcomes the incomparable Nneka on Friday, May 13th for an exclusive Unplugged concert. The vocalist of Nigerian & German descent started her career in 2005 and released her debut album Vicim of Truth in the UK in 2007. Her sophomore album No Longer at Ease, gave her the opportunity to tour with Lauryn Hill and Lenny Kravitz. Her first U.S. release, Concrete Jungle came as an offering of hope for the people of Warri & and the Niger Delta of Nigeria, you can feel her emotion through her voice weather is be beauty, love, yearning or rage. Nneka moved from Africa to Northern Europe when she was 19 for college and played in clubs all over Europe. Her earlier works focused on love, hope and optimism while her newer material dives more into some of the tough realities of both personal and international politics. She sings to speak the truth, and her fanbase is a testament to that. Nneka didn’t gain fame over night with a record deal or a big Youtube video, her success has been based on her true talent
