Red Bull Soundclash is an unparalleled live musical conversation performance between two bands with diverse sounds, styles, and creativity. The ultimate musical battle where two bands fight for the grace of the public. Which band will be the best to anticipate the other? Which band will have the stamina to keep going? It’s up to the audience to decide.
For Red Bull Soundclash: DC, rapper Wale and indie rock band Tokyo Police Club will go head-to-head on stage. Wale and Tokyo Police Club – two very different music styles (Hip Hop and Indie Rock) facing-off on two stages positioned on opposite ends of the venue with the audience in the middle.
In a series of four rounds, the bands perform various tasks—some rehearsed, some improvised—to showcase the range of their musical abilities. The audience participates in the back-and-forth exploration between the bands by judging each round. Which band will be the best to anticipate the other? Which band will have the stamina to keep going? The audience decides who the winner will be.
Exclusive transportation for Red Bull Soundclash DC is provided by the all new 2011 Ford Fiesta. Attendees commuting to the concert via Archives-Navy Mem’l-Penn Quarter and Judiciary Square metro stops will be able to test drive the 2011 Ford Fiesta to the event. All test drivers will receive a pass to skip the entry line at Red Bull Soundclash. Ford Fiesta will also be hosting a “pre party” before and during Red Bull Soundclash including Rock Band battles, a digital graffiti wall, photo booths and more.
