On one of the last nights of CMJ, hip-hop fans came together to celebrate the life of Roc Raida who died in September. This was a very dope look and a fitting tribute to the turntabalist bringing in The Beat Junkies, Z-Trip, . Check it:

One of the most talked about events at CMJ last week was Nomadic Wax/The Bloom Effect’s 4th annual CMJ Global Hip Hop Throwdown, which brought out acts from all corners of the globe. The event, hosted by Blitz The Ambassador, featured such acts as At Versaris (Spain), La Melodia (Netherlands), Coolooloosh (Israel) , and Nomadic Massive (Canada).

Chauffeur – Soles Of Fire

So from the looks of it, Chauffeur, the new “group” consisting of Mark Ronson, Sam Sparro & Theophilus London seems like bait for bloggers like me to instantly crown them as the next big thing. Well, I’m taking said bait (sort of) because the potential of three of my favorite names in music today getting together could be huge.

Chauffeur premiered at the Levi’s/FADER Fort this past weekend for CMJ and the track hit FADER yesterday. It’s all an advertisement for Gucci shoes, but I’m hoping these cats collaborate more in the future.
