“GOOD TO GO-GO” MIX CD Presented by Mr. Singh

First, The Fader is sponsoring a night of go-go…in Atlanta. The X.O Band will perform as well as a performance by Wale. If you’re in the ATL and are just a tad curious of how DC gets down, check it out. Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of go-go (I’m gonna get jumped for saying that), but I’m glad that people are trying to promote it outside of DC/MD/VA. And respect to The Fader for their continued DC love.

Also tonight, is The Sound of DC CD Release Party at BeBar. Proceeds from the CD benefits the Whitman-Walker Clinic and HIV/Aids Prevention in the DC Area. Cover is only $5. More info about the party and the CD can be found at Fusicology.

On My New York Sh…

So like I said, I hit NY two weekends ago I went to DJ in NYC (my bad Ian) and of course my fascination with photos overtook me. These are one 1/10th of the total photos I took. Some of Williamsburg, Clinton Hill and the Lower East Side. Shouts out to Dallas Penn who I saw in ALIFE and Heron Preston who I saw in Katz Deli (the best $13.45 I’ve ever spent on a pastrami sandwich). My friends said they only do fun shit when I come to town - I take that as a compliment. Peep the shot of the hotel room that was located directly across from the WTC…ill, sad, and breathtaking all at once. SUPER shout to Damian G for allowing me to spin at his party and have such a wonderful time - I owe you big brotha!!

Brooklyn son.

DJ/MC/Producer Pase Rock who has a dope ass live mix killing the interwebs right now.

DJ AM & Stretch Armstrong @ Studio B in Greenpoint. These dudes both rocked the party sick, but DJ Roctakon was the illest that night. So many DJs were in the building that night - DJ Riz, DJ Soul, Cosmo Baker & DJ Ayres, A-Trak, and lord knows who else.

Benny Gold x ALIFE x 10 Deep

ill. sad. breathtaking.

Party People: Just Another Night In DC

So if y’all didn’t realize, I don’t get out that much lately. Blame it on work as always. I’m slowly starting to get out to people’s gigs, and since Miss Lady Glock is in town from London, this weekend seemed better than ever to reintroduce myself to the DC nightlife scene.

Only problem is…I was working all day. So if you saw me Saturday night, I was probably sleeping standing up.

250_453366625_420fba898c.jpg

Anyway, first stop was DC9 to see our homies in Lucky Bastards and Indigo Son perform. Earl and Indigo Son killed it as always and although we had to cut our stay there short, The new songs from Lucky Bastards were . I can never get a good picture at DC9, so this was the only one I was able to salvage.

DJ Dave Nada @ Bang Bang

Next stop was Wonderland for Bang Bang featuring Dave Nada, FreshDipt and Rome. Every DJ that night killed it. Seriously, DC has a good thing goin’ with the DJ talent we have. The set went from old skool to new skool, to B-More Club, to Dancehall and everything in between. The 80s babies were definitely represented. Every time I roll into Wonderland I run into someone I know and Saturday night was no exception. I even ran into yet another fan of the Podcast. People, I gotta say, I get a little flattered when I meet my “fans”. If you meet me in person I might get rendered speechless for a few seconds, but that’s just me getting used to this whole new found popularity thang. (More pics from Bang Bang @ Better Than Yours)

And I will leave this post on this note: Some people in this world were not meant to dance. Actually, what surprises me are the people who are proud of the fact that they cannot dance. I know it’s a DC hipster thing, but still…..it’s not a good look.

London Meetup = Still On

039951_45.jpg

My Bad for keepin’ y’all in the dark about this whole meetup thing. Like I’ve said before, I’ve been busy as hell and I didn’t have time to plan an event in DC, so trying to plan something 3000 miles away wasn’t gonna be any easier. But nevertheless, even though I didn’t promote the hell out of this thing like I wanted to, the meetup is still on. It’s defiantly gonna be one of those low key hookah nights and we’ll probably be hitting up a DJ/club night afterwards.

If you’re in the LDN and want to hang out with yours truly, my sister, Miss Hipstah, and other assorted friends and villains, we will be here:

Casa Blue
120 Bethnal Green Rd,
London, E2 6DG
Time: 8:30 PM
Nearest Tube: Bethnal Green, Old Street Station
Google Map

If you’re interested, just shoot me an email or hit me up on MySpace so that I know you’re coming.

Also, I’m gonna have my laptop, but when faced between the choice of answering emails/blogging and enjoying my vacation…..well, you know which one I will choose.
