All good things must come to an end, and we have now reached that of season 3. The ghost of old characters have returned in the finale to handle some unfinished business. Tony, the very first probation worker to bite the dust, returns to apologize for trying to kill the gang. Sally, who was an old love interest with Simon during his awkward phase, has returned to profess her love for him.

And finally Rachel, the brainwashing religious-nut who was killed by Nathan, denounces her faith and enjoys the pleasures of sex, drugs and alcohol.

But all the ghosts’ intentions aren’t completely genuine. Sally tries to destroy one relationship as a way of seeking revenge for the heartache and death of her boyfriend, Tony, and Rachel realizes denouncing her faith isn’t what it’s all cracked out to be. Never straying away from the norm, the ending of this episode will leave you shocked and full of mixed emotions. There are so many questions left unanswered and multiple rumors surfacing about who will and will not return for a fourth season.

Misfits has delivered one hell of a finale with much anticipation for next year. Hats off to you Misfits/E4 for another brilliant season.

We’ve been fans of Kevin Smith on the couch for such a long time. It seems like his movies Clerks and Mallrats were staples of our High School and College viewing habits. As a director, Smith has been very engaging with his fans, so I’m actually kind of excited to see this one man show, Kevin Smith – Burn In Hell which drops on EPIX on February 11th. The show is part biography, part Q&A, and part standup and it looks like a must for fans of the director. Check it.

We all know that our friends at Nooka have changed the game when it comes to watches. Flipping the script the way we read time was only the beginning. Now the company is trying to do the same thing for your phone as it did to your watch with the Nooka App that dropped this week. The App brings the base-10 Nooka display to your phone, and allows you to customize the face, and colors. It contains a world clock and a timer as well. Check it.

For avid music fans, the greatest pleasure is getting into the brains of our favorite musicians. We relish the possibility of stealing five minutes of time from a music legend. Perhaps over a beer and a cigarette, we hope to discover the secrets of the magicians who make the magic. Unfortunately it’s an experience that usually ends in disappointment because, let’s face it, for all their God-given talents they are all just as human as we are. Hell, even the Dali Lama couldn’t live up to the standards we place on our musical heroes.

For fans, the music created and/or performed by our favorite artist is the point that our peek into their souls should begin and most likely end, but, of course, not before that idea has been completely exhausted. PBS takes us to the edge of that experience with the British soul superstar Adele in the exceptional televised live music performance series “The Artist Den”.

Adele holds down the first episode of the fourth season performing a stripped down acoustic set with just a pianist/keyboardist and guitarist. Filmed at the Santa Monica Women’s Club in Santa Monica, California, the venue feels more like a small elegant playhouse than a concert hall, but works perfectly for the performance.

As Adele performs, the lack of full instrumentation exposes the extent of her vocal abilities and you can feel the full weight of the personal experiences she pours into her lyrics. My personal favorite moment of the show was what Adele described as a “bossa nova” rendition of The Cure’s classic “Love Song”. Her voice brings to light the depth of dedication the lyrics posses. The song becomes less a moving piece about undying love, and more a about a crazed obsession, induced by the heart.

In addition to the live performances, a one-on-one interview woven between the live sets features Adele discussing topics including her creative process. While it gives the viewer a better picture of the woman behind music, I would argue that we get the best glimpse of her true personality back on stage. She opens up and talks directly to the crowd, sharing anecdotes like fantasizing about being a bride in the hall before sound-check, or a story about her mother sneaking her into a concert at the age of three.

If you happen to be an Adele fan this is, without a doubt, an absolute must see. If you’re not the slow pace and mellow atmosphere may bore you a little bit, but for the brightest spots like her Cure cover and an energetic performance of “Rollin In The Deep” it’s worth the lull.

Get close to Adele without getting your dreamy unrealistic ideals shattered by checking out her performance on “Live From The Artist Den” on PBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.

I’ve been living in NYC for the past year but I have yet to live in NYC.

Usually my days are spend running from one meeting to the next, scarfing down $1 pizzas and going to open bar industry nights. The city around me is a blur as I walk past it with blinders on, not paying attention to the beauty that only New York City provides.

Yesterday, through the lens of my iPhone I was able to rediscover this city that I love. Eyewear design house Warby Parker and Instagram NYC teamed up for the first #Warbywalk around Soho and the Meatpacking District. Over 100 walkers participated in the 2 hour event (they originally planned for 50) which was capped off with a rooftop party and trunk show at the Gansevoort Hotel. It was an amazing day. I met some great people. My girlfriend had a good time, and it made me appreciate this city so much more. Enjoy, and follow @couchsessions in Instagram.

Let’s get this out of the way first. I can’t stand tote bags. Honestly, I was at a conference once and when I heard they were giving out totes as the official bag I refused to get one. Real talk. However, I’m always down for products with versatility, so I definitely cosign this whiskey tote by Bushmills and ACL. It’s engineered to “get the party started,” as they would say, providing ample space for two whiskey bottles. At only $20, it’s probably one of the cheapest accessories I’ve seen this year. The bag is made in limited numbers, and you have jump through a hoop to order, but all proceeds benefit the The Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Check it. (via Uncrate)

The latest episode takes a hilarious twist on the concept of “safe sex”. We deal with two members of the gang trying to solve a sexual experience gone wrong. Though Rudy and Curtis are both on a mission to solve their own messed up scenarios, Rudy steals the show. It’s packed with all the humor and creative nonsense that Misfits has needed. Simon helps Rudy find the girl who gave him a crazy std from hell after a hit-or-quit sexual escapade. Curtis, on the other hand, finds out his alter-female self is pregnant, and he’s the father. Only in the UK right?

Rudy’s run around is the heart of the show. Every moment he has in the episode, he milks it and actually manages to redeem himself from being the usual twat that he is. The idea of losing his appendage actually changes his attitude as he makes a very public apology to the girl who is ruining his life, and all without the help of his other half. Though he seems to have turned a new leaf, I honestly hope this doesn’t last. Then his dynamic with Simon throughout the episode gives promise to one similar with him and Nathan.

Curtis wasn’t given the same opportunity for a crazy scenario or room for dramatic development, as usual, but next weeks episode, is the perfect opportunity for him to cause a stir.

There’s no question this time only because I don’t want to intrude in any of your lives by asking any inappropriate questions, so practice safe sex, or you may just end up like Rudy or Curtis!

Seven months ago I packed my life into one single suitcase, said sayonara to all my friends and family and moved from NZ to Melbourne. Being the gypsy that I am, it wasn’t going to be long before NZ just became too small for me and being that you tend to earn at least 30% more in Australia than you ever will in NZ, the move here was pretty logical.

Since moving here, I’ve really fallen behind with keeping up with what’s going on in the music scene and that’s largely to do with the fact I spend a lot less time behind the computer as I’ve actually gone and found myself a social life! And what a social life Melbourne has to offer.

Melbourne is very much a Gen Y city: hip, young, has a vibrant culture, thriving street art scene, more live music venues than people and a trendsetting bar culture. The three main things Melbourne is known for are it’s hundreds of hidden laneway and basement bars, it’s coffee and it’s street art, so overall, a pretty damn dope city to live in for someone like me.

ACDC Lane

When people think of Australia, they tend to dismiss Melbourne and instantly think of the pristine, white, sandy beaches of Sydney. However, what Sydney lacks is a thriving culture and vibe and Melbourne more than makes up for this, after all, it was voted the world’s most livable city last year (showing off just a little?).

Being that it’s the height of Summer right now, I’m going to leave you with my favourite Summer discovery, they go by the name of I’lls’ (pronounced Isles), a little known group from Melbourne whom I will definitely be keeping an eye on this year. This is their first music video to their song Northern Quarters from their debut E.P Thread. Check them out.

So far, so good.
Overall verdict: Melbourne = 9.5/10

The guys at Street Etiquette return with an amazing feature series called Black Ivy Docs. The first series sends the crew to Staten Island (the only borough I still have yet to set foot in) to interview someone who’s alter ego is “Professor Badass.” The documentary is actually a collections of images and audio, used brilliantly to tell as story. Amazing.

From Josua Kissi:

I first met Kevin Stewart about a year very randomly in SoHo. Some people have an strange ability to show that they are worth knowing. Certainly he was very well dressed, but it was more than that. Kevin Stewart is a designer, musician, painter and master of all things visual. Clearly my presumptions about him were not mistaken, as one quick conversation at his humble abode led to a very inspiring first episode of Black Ivy Docs.

The power of love seems to be the underlying theme in episode 5 of Misfits. We finally shift from Simon and Alisha’s relationship to the growing romance between Kelly and Seth, the power dealer. Kelly finds herself in a sort of Freaky Friday scenario when she body swaps with a girl in a coma who just minutes before, was unwillingly being broken up with by her boyfriend who was unable to cope with her condition. Kelly, who seems to be the rock of the group, is finally the one in serious need and it is up to Seth, as well as the rest of the group to help Kelly before they lose her for good. This episode is literally a life or death, or better yet, love or death situation. Jen, the girl once in a coma, has a second chance to get back with the guy she loves using Kelly’s body, but even still, he can’t cope with his girlfriend’s “new look”.

To add insult to injury, Jen’s family plans on pulling the plug, but Jen isn’t the one in the hospital, at least not spiritually. Not only is Jen ultimately unsuccessful at winning back her boyfriend, but she is also going to kill and destroy another relationship in the process. This is a great opportunity for Seth to prove his adoration and love for Kelly, although she won’t be there to witness it. Jen is left between ethics and emotions and you’d be surprised how love, or lack there of, factors in.

I’m a little disappointed by this week’s episode for it’s more safe approach, though I do see it’s necessity in order to further develop Kelly and Seth’s relationship. I’m excited to see the development of their relationship and am extremely curious of how long this will last. Let’s hope he isn’t secretly a monkey, pun intended.

For all the lovers and hopeless romantics out there, what’s the most dramatic thing you’d do for love?

Way back when I was in college I took a trip to NC State to visit a friend. His roommate at the time was working on a 3D plastic modeling technology which blew me away at the time (over 10 years ago). Essentially you would scan an object into a computer and a printer would spit out plastic to make an exact 3-d duplicate of it. It was amazing back then and it’s stil amazing today.

What’s more cool about it is that it’s going mainstream. Makerbot Industries is aboout to drop its MakerBot Replicator for home use. The Brooklyn-based company is making the first 3-D printer for home use. Sure, it’s pricey (retails at $1749) but it’s more than a toy. It has practical uses for small at-home manufacturers as well. Check it.

If y’all didn’t know, Monster is the manufacturer of the Beats By Dre headphones which everyone seems to love these days. Buoyed by it’s riches, the brand is now moving into other branded headphone products. The company signed a deal with DIESEL and their Diesel Noise Division to produce these VEKTR over the ear headphones. The design might not be for everyone, but I find it very striking and almost an artistic statement. However that all goes out the window unless it sounds good, which Monster is promising.

The Monster Inspiration headphones are a bit more toned down but also have a striking look. The noise-canceling headphones are designed for business travelers and such. The cool thing that they are offering here are interchangeable headbands that creates a unique look for the wearer.

Both headsets will have inner-ear versions available and will drop sometime this year.
