Every music blogger has had one of those immediate “oh sh*t this is so dope” moments. One of mine came the first time I caught Sonnymoon’s  “Runaway” video. Although the video was simply the two of them chillin’ in a room, ‘messing around with music’; it was pretty obvious that Dane Orr and Anna Wise have extraordinary chemistry, and can make some out-of-this-world music together. Their debut album, Golden Age was an instant Couch Sessions classic.

Now, a little over two years and a signing to Plug Research later, I welcome my favorite dope duo back to Earth, with their new EP called 2012. Intergalactic beats and captivating vocals immediately greet you after pressing play … Soon after it will hit you that Sonnymoon has returned, and us earthlings are much better off because of it.

 High end meets lower end fashion collaborations are ALL the rage right now. But the brains over at H&M have taken this trend to the next level by partnering with a film company for it’s next big release. David Finchers, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (which was a great read) is gearing up for it’s US debut (the Swedish version was awesome) – and to celebrate, Trish Summerville, the film’s costume designer, worked with Sweden’s H&M to develop a capsule collection of Lisbeth Salander-worthy high street clothes.  If you’re familiar with Lisbeth (played by Rooney Marain in the US version) than you know that leather jackets and pants, slouchy tees and hooded sweaters make up the bulk of her daily gear and so will this 30 piece collection – which will hit Colette on November 28th and H&M stores on December 14th.

Definitely looking forward to seeing more!

As we all continue to wait for a new full length from the dope duo that is Sonnymoon (crossing fingers for a Christmas treat) – Dane & Anna have so kindly dropped a ‘lil acoustic diity to soothe our high soul’ . “Golden Age,” off of their debut EP (of the same name) is one of the main reasons why Anna’s voice ranks so high on my female vocalists list. It is simply beauitful. Enjoy below.

Last month my ears picked up on a dope duo out of London going by the name 14th. Their chillaxed style of electro infused space-pop was an immediate attention grabber and now I’m happy to learn that their upcoming EP, Hide Yourself is available for full stream. About to dive into this now, I suggest you do the same.

I really, really, REALLY – can’t get enough of “Nap On The Bow” the latest single from dope Brooklyn duo New Look – who also happens to be husband & wife. This song is pure perfection. Thought I was buggin’ for a second when I saw these two names paired alongside one another … happy to know that I wasn’t. Kaskade, who is by far one of my favorite producers, has released a little preview of a track he recorded with dope darlings Quadron – which will be found on his upcoming album FIRE & ICE. Get a taste below.

Although Quadron’s star continues to rapidly rise, it’s not stopping the dope duo from collaborating with other up-and-coming Danish producers and musicians. This summer we were all buzzing off the sounds of their Boom Clap Bachelors collabo – and now comes another treat, courtesy of (another ‘Dane’) by the name of CHLLNGR. His eerie dub influenced track, “Sundown” – features the ever-so lovely vocals of Coco. I heart this girl and her voice times 1000. Listen below:

Syd Tha Kid & Matt Martian (aka The Internet) randomly appeared on my radar last week. Glad it took less than seven days to find more hotness from these two. Their latest, “They Say” (featuring Tay Walker) can be found on the new Odd Future sampler, & impressively, Syd’s vocals (& melodies) continue to shine beyond brightly.

Lovely. Absolutely lovely.

Sweden’s got soul. No doubt about it. My latest potential obsession comes from a prolific musician by the name of Oskar Sharp, who was introduced to hip hop in the 80′s through Quincy Jones (go figure). It was artists like Run-DMC, ATCQ, and Dilla that influenced Oskar to create his own inspired version of hip hop-soul – which you can hear via his new album, Songs In The Tree of Life; a collaborative record featuring vocalists & musicians from all over the world. The first(?) single, “Catch It” (featuring Omar) is really quite enjoyable … Relax, listen, & enjoy!

Philosophy Of Sound – It Is Like That (Radio Edit) OUT NOW by Discotexas

OK, so it must be ‘male/female duo’ day for me on the Couch (see previous post). I was scrolling though the Clouds and came across this unreleased version of Quadron’s “Wounds” –  which is an “alternate take on Simili Life that Robin and Coco have been holding up their sleeve”. Hmmm … what else are these two holding up there??? Simply put: I want to marry Coco’s voice (see 2 minute & 10 second mark till end of song).

No, the actual internet hasn’t teamed up with itself to produced its own song. But with the way technology is rapidly evolving, I wouldn’t be surprised if one day this were the case.

The Internet is comprised of Odd Future’s awesome lone lady, Syd Tha Kid on vocals; and Matt Martian of the Super 3 - on the beats. Their gorgeous (and wayyyy too short) one minute and thirty-three second track “Love Song-1-2″ sneaked onto the …well, internet, a couple of nights ago …

We’ve stressed it here time & time again: but there is something super magical about the male/female electro duo (Quadron, Sonnymoon, 14th, etc … ) & it looks like The Internet may be ‘up next’ in this long line of perfect musical pairings. As we get more we will most definitely share. But for now peep “love Song-1-2″ .
