Red Bull helped to align the stars in crafting an excellent street party thrown on Mother’s Day to honor the legacy of House Music legend, Larry Levan. By now I’m sure you’ve read the many recaps, seen the live streams, liked the IG photos etc. and while the expert DJ sets by Levan-affiliates (and legends in their own right) Joey Llanos, Dave Depino and Francois K had an entire city block of New Yorkers dancing, a reported 3000 more waited on adjacent blocks attempting to get in. Call it good planning, or just good vibes but there was something in the space amongst the crowd, that made this event something special.
Walking through the crowd of multi-generational New York party-goers there was an abundance of beautiful faces, and more importantly many dancing bodies. The legacy of Larry Levan is as strong as ever and go HERE to help solidify it more by signing the petition to rename King St. to Larry Levan Way.
