Food + Drink
EVENT: Edible Manhattan's Good Spirits
It's official. Edible Manhattan knows how to throw one hell of an event. Last night 82 Mercer Street was transformed to a fun food and drink event that was both what I expected and also so much more for their Good Spirits event that was postponed from February 20th due to a blizzard.
The food was phenomenal, the drinks were strong and outrageous, and the atmosphere was fun and upbeat. While there were a lot of people there, I never felt over crowded, which is a huge plus in my book. There's nothing worse than walking around with a glass and a fork bumping into people.
I took the standard approach and started at the beginning, fork and glass in hand and camera ready. The biggest fail of the night though was that they ran out of hangers so I had to carry my coat around--but we'll let that one slide and hope that next year they bring in more reinforcements! But if that's the only down side, I'd say it's certainly something I can live with.

Some of my favorite dishes and cocktails of the night were the crispy smoked Long Island oyster taco from L&W Oyster Co--these things were unreal. The meats from Salumeria Rosa were excellent and my favorite cocktail of the night was probably the Lejay Spritz.

All in all, it was one of the best food events I've been to and will definitely be on the look out for the next Edible Manhattan soiree. This is something that would be great to do with friends or a date and I had a lovely time on my own!
