There was a lot of buzz surrounding Hood By Air’s show earlier this month. Rightly so- not only did designer Shayne Oliver successfully translate streetwear into high fashion, but he also managed to make it androgynous. These pieces focus more on structure and the urban aesthetic than sex-representing form.
A large selection of pieces had a loose, baggy fit reminiscent of early 2000’s fashion (anyone who can re-salvage that era is by definition a genius). Perhaps Hood By Air is our chance to redeem ourselves of the fashion-sins committed those 13 some-odd years ago.
