While it’s still pretty popular to bemoan that “Hip-hop is dead” and kick a few puppies out of anger, anyone who’s actually paid attention to the genre at the turn of the decade realizes it’s probably been a golden era for the genre. New and interesting acts pop up everyday, and here’s the lastest we’ve come across, Green Street. Born out of some heartache and pain (two of the members recently nearly died), there’s an earnestness to the music that you rarely hear in traditional head nodding hip-hop. (usually it gets buried in with the cameo track from Drake).
