MUSIC: Bahamadia

by Reginald Duvivier

Despite how smart our phones are we still use them for dumb things. Me? My phone gets burn primarily as an drunken argument fact checker and Facebook stalking device. Some people use their power of their phones to be productive which is where this Bahamadia clip comes in. Here she creates beat (a pretty dope one), from scratch in her car with her iphone and records brand new bars; creating a song from scratch. It is paced so you can get a glimpse of her work process; it’s always fascinating watching how artists create the art they do. It is a glimpse into a future where beatmakers will make trap songs, in the trap, to be trap superstars (the trap meaning long ago gentrified neighborhoods with vegan cookies).

Check it out below (and check out how hard her speakers knock!)
