MUSIC: Earl Sweatshirt Performing Live in a Garage
by Reginald Duvivier
50 Cent’s benefactors Vitaminwater via Fader has kicked off their #uncapped campaign, which features music in unusual places. This time they brought out the elusive prodigy rapper from Odd Future, Earl Sweatshirt, to perform tracks in a basement garage in NYC. Along with Odd Future member Syd Tha Kid playing DJ, they tore through a set of tracks from his upcoming album Doris. Lil B/A$ap Rocky beatmaker Clams Casino was in the house and miss info hosted the intimate event.
Mr. Sweatshirt also released a new video for the track featuring Odd Future associates Vince Staples and Casey Veggies. It’s a dark clip with a rough looking Earl hurling verses in a neighborhood that seems to be in perpetual night. Basically it’s one trippy drugged up video, which is surprising because Odd Future is pretty renown for their extremely positively and sunny outlook on life.
