Mochilla and Miguel Atwood Ferguson’s amazing re-work of Dilla a few years go taught us that the orchestral versions of hip-hop are a much needed yet little explored realm of music.
However, the Clubcasa Chamber Orchestra’s amazing rendition of Kendrick’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe,” might just open some eyes and ears to the power of orchestral hip-hop. Headed by Sylvester Uzoma Onyejiaka II and recorded at Brooklyn’s legendary Club House, the multiple piece arrangement was has already inspired more down the line and a possible remix EP in the works.
