What’s better than a music festival? A music and food festival! Sound Bites is coming to Washington DC this Sunday, May 19th and bringing together the area’s favorite local music and eats, including a mixology contest. The event, held inside and outside of the 9:30 Club, will include musical acts such as Lee Fields and the Expressions, Deathfix (Brendan Canty of Fugazi, Rich Morel, Devin Ocampo of Faraquet and Mark Cisneros of Medications), DJ Will Eastman, Kid Congo and his Kid Congo Power Hour, The Razz, Rich Morel’s Hot Sauce, and Batala.
The entire block outside of the 9:30 Club will host free food tastings from 25 food trucks and restaurants in the area, including Borinquen Food Truck, Sticky Fingers Bakery, Pizzeria Orso, Jaleo, Indique, H & Pizza, Red Apron Butcher, and much, much more. Even better – tickets are only $40 and all proceeds from the event will go towards DC Central Kitchen, an organization focused on finding new solutions to beat poverty, hunger, and poor health. Eating, drinking, and live music, all for charity? Sounds great to us!
