EVENT PREVIEW: Village Voice’s Choice Eats on 3/19
by Lea Faminiano
Red Hook Lobster Pound’s Lobster Roll
A three hour sampling of over 50 restaurants in New York City, plus complimentary booze, all for only $50, and you can benefit Slow Food NYC, too? Yes please! The Village Voice is once again hosting their Choice Eats event for the sixth year in a row, this time on Tuesday, March 19, starting at 6:30 pm.
Luckily for you, we’re super experienced eaters, so we’ve compiled a list of our favorites. The lineup includes:
El Almacen [a Couch Sessions favorite because we love steak and red wine]
Kuma Inn [one of my personal favorites for NYC Filipino Food – love their lechon + scallops]
Danny Macaroons [we’ve raved about them before]
Liddabit Sweets [we first encountered their goodness through their bacon-bourbon-coffee-caramel popcorn at Googa Mooga]
Fay Da Bakery [bakers of these cute + tasty little guys]
The Meatball Shop [check this throwback article by us!]
Red Hook Lobster Pound [where we picked up this amazing lobster roll at Smorgasburg]
…and much, much more. My advice is to get there early (to maximize your time), with an empty stomach (to maximize your money), and with stretchy pants (to maximize your wiggle room). Pick up tickets here!
