DESIGN: Hong Kong Makers Fair
As I exited the Central express bus in front of the old Wanchai Police Headquarters I spied a giant yellow goldfish with a glowing light behind it and an unusually colorful crowd filtering into the building. I have the lucky tendency to follow breadcrumbs that lead to havens full of treasures and creativity, as was the Hong Kong Makers' Fair. Inside was a myriad spread of custom-built objects, modern re-imaginings of urban materials with a strong sense of re-worked individual touch. The Makers Fair is a large-scale international platform for new designers to showcase original concepts and products to the public.
