This past Tuesday night, music and food lovers gathered at Fort Greene’s La Caye restaurant to preview tracks from Spree Wilson‘s upcoming EP, “Life in Technicolor,” and also to enjoy a night full of Southern-style food and drink.
La Caye provided an intimate setting for the food and music pairing event, serving up a delicious tasting menu of fried cod sliders, macaroni and cheese, and fried okra, items chosen by Spree Wilson which tied to his Southern roots. Everyone enjoyed their meal and some people even ordered additional items off La Caye’s tasty Haitian menu!
Couch Sessions’ very own Stone Ford conducted a sort of “Inside the Artists’ Studio” style Q&A before the performance, where Spree discussed the new EP (expected to be released in January 2013) and his Southern roots. After the discussion, Spree gave the audience an exclusive live performance of tracks from “Life in Technicolor,” including “Right One Wrong Time,” and wrapped up the show with an acoustic rendition of “Don’t Pass Me By.”
Shout out to La Caye for providing the wonderful food and venue – if you want to check out the amazing Caribbean menu, check out their website and head over to 35 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn!
Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us – we had a great time, and we hope you did too! Look forward to more food and music pairing events in the future!
