For a minute now, I’ve been hearing the name Bonjay float around my ears, but only recently have I’ve been hip to their music. The Canadian duo’s combination of pop vocals and heavy bass makes them stand out among (and let’s face it) a rather bland music scene. Lead singer Alanna Stuart’s strong vocals set the group apart, bringing an soulful, powerful flavor to the project. Producer “Pho” Swain’s use of everything from minimalist blips to full on dancehall sounds is definitely some different ish.
Their last project, Broughtupsy dropped in 2011, but still needs some shine. Check it.
