OPENINGS: S’Mac, Ladurée, Pork Slope, and More

by Lea Faminiano

In New York City, restaurants come and go at the drop of a hat – we at Couch Sessions are here to make sure you’re on top of the newest eateries around so you don’t miss a bite.  Take a look at the newly opened and upcoming restaurants and other food havens here… then get out and start eating!

Maison Ladurée

Home to my absolute favorite desserts in the world – their famous macarons – the Parisian patisserie legend is set to open a SoHo café space in the fall to complement their wildly popular bakery on the Upper East Side.

398 West Broadway
New York, NY

S’Mac

One of my personal favorites – my mac and cheese addiction is further fueled by the announcement of an additional S’Mac location in Murray Hill, open sometime this fall.

157 E. 33rd Street
New York, NY

Pork Slope

How can you resist a place called “Pork Slope”?  Dale Talde’s new bar is said to offer great bar comfort food, such as shrimp po’boys, but the real catch here is their focus on beer and whiskey… and $5 shot-and-beer specials.

247 5th Avenue
Brooklyn, NY

Buunni Coffee

The online Ethiopian coffee shop recently found space in Manhattan and is slated to open at the end of August – if you don’t mind the trek, get out of that Starbucks bubble and make your way uptown for a different kind of coffee.

213 Pinehurst Avenue
New York, NY

Maison Kayser

Eric Kayser of Parisian boulangerie fame has finally brought his famous sandwiches, pastries, and baguettes (made onsite!) to New York City.

1294 Third Avenue
New York, NY
