I’ve said this time and time again, but the UK really does get pop music right. From Adele to Lily Allen to some of the newer players on the market such as Aluna George, the Brits have been able to balance musical experimentation and pop accessibility.
Take the latest duo on the market, Peter and Kerry. The duo (who stress that they are “just friends”) formed after a weekend together, and the music is a blend of upbeat traditional pop with some indie rock stylings. Unlike some of the more electronic-based projects from their peers, Peter and Kerry’s music sounds more down to earth and traditional.
Their full length album, La Trimouille drops in the UK this July. Until then, check out their Clothes, Friends, Photos EP that dropped last year.
