We all know that Hennessy has had the congac game on lock for years. Go to any club uptown or in Bed-Stuy and “Henny” is most certainly the drink of choice and for the most part has remained unchallenged. So I’m not that surprised that Jay-Z has decided to jump in the game with D’ussé. Pronounced dew-say, the new liquor brand is a collaboration with Hova and Baccardi.
Introduced this week at a private tasting, the jury is still out on whether the drink can match a Remy Martin or Courvoisier taste wise. Tastes of Jay’s other liquor venture, Armand de Brignac, have been mixed. However it’s rumored that Jay has made $50 million on the Ace of Spades deal, so you can’t knock the hustle.
Prices for D’ussé will be $44.99 for a 750-ml bottle, which is not a bad look.
