While most cities are only now seeing microbrews, it seems that Brooklyn is on to the next. It started with two competing “Brooklyn” Gins, and now it seems that small batch distilleries are popping up everywhere in the borough. Carrying that “do it yourself” ethos are the guys behind Industry City Distillery.
The company is an offshoot of The City Foundry, whom they call “is a research and design group focused on improving small-scale manufacturing processes through the blending of science and art.” The 6,000 square foot space is a virtual science lab, including a bio research lab and design studio.
But leave the science to the nerds. The real question is how will the vodka taste? Fermented with beet sugar, the drink is supposed to stand out, and we will find out soon enough as the drink presale drops today via select Brooklyn retailers. Check it. (via Uncrate)
